The Rev. Christopher Jarvis, pastoral administrator of Christ the King Church in Acme, encouraged parishioners to take direction from St. Paul in our "spiritual battle."

Jarvis noted ways we can do that include staying in God's grace, going to Mass and praying daily. But he also said one "weapon" we should take up in this battle is praying the Rosary.

"So many of the saints spoke of it as a weapon," he said in a letter to the parish family printed in the Sept. 13 bulletin

St. Dominic compared the Rosary to a battering ram. St. Jose Maria Escriva once said that if it's used with confidence the results are amazing. The late priest Joseph Kentenich once called the Rosary a superior weapon in defeating God's enemies.

Jarvis encouraged Catholics to keep the Rosary going throughout the remainder of the 54-day novena. Even if you've missed a few days or have yet to start, he just wants people to participate.
