The Diocese of Saginaw is holding a Novena in honor of St. Joseph, which will conclude on Nov. 1, which is the same day as the Solemnity of All Saints at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw.

The practice of praying a Novena is a tradition in the Catholic Church, which consists of praying for an intention over nine consecutive days, according to Blessed is She.

“Faithful gathered at St. Joseph Church in St. Louis on Tuesday, Oct. 26 for Mass as part of the Novena in Honor of St. Joseph. The novena will continue at various locations throughout the diocese and will conclude on Monday, Nov. 1.  Join us at one of the locations!”  the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw shared on Facebook.

According to The Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, on Friday, Oct. 29, there was to be Confession at 5 p.m., Mass and a Novena at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church in Mt. Pleasant.  On Saturday, Oct. 30, Confession will be at 11 a.m., with Mass and a Novena at noon at St. Joseph Church in Saginaw.  On Sunday, Oct. 31, Mass and a Novena will be at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw, live streamed.  Monday, Nov. 1 (the Solemnity of All Saints), there will be a Mass and Novena at 8 a.m. at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, live streamed.

At the end of last year, Pope Francis declared that 2021 would be the year of St. Joseph, according to the Vatican.
