Holy Spirit Catholic Church's Nov. 22 bulletin highlighted one of the most notable events in the Catholic community, the Feast of Christ the King.
Commemorated every last Sunday of Ordinary Time and immediately before Advent, several scriptures strengthen the feast of Christ the King.
Psalm 45:6 said, "Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom."
The Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to Saint Matthew 25: 31-32, "Jesus said to his disciples: When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit upon his glorious throne, and all the nations will be assembled before him."
The author and Holy Spirit Catholic Church Director of Faith Formation, Mary Anne Bastian, also invites people to read Mother Teresa's meditation entitled "I Thirst for You," which presents the great love of Jesus Christ, our King, has for us.
"On this Feast of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, ponder His benevolence and love for you. Make a decision to give Him not only your heart, but your body, your will, your loved ones, your life," Bastian said in the post. "In doing so, you will find peace, love and freedom beyond what you thought possible. After all, your brother, Jesus, is the King of the Universe."
The Holy Spirit Parish is located at 9565 Musch Rd Brighton, MI 48116.
