St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in East Lansing shared a reflection on the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Rev. Gordon Reigle wrote that the readings this week bring us to a place where we should be serious about loving God and others.

“Like the quote from St. Paul above, much of our growth as Christians comes through imitating parents, grandparents, teachers, priests and others who show us the love of Jesus,” Rev. Reigle wrote in the bulletin.

We can move towards a place of love by praying and seeking opportunities to be examples of Christ for future generations to look up to.

All congregants are invited to the special All Souls’ Day Mass on Monday November 2 and 7 p.m.

Rev. Reigle also shared the news that Carlo Acutis was beatified in Assisi, after dying at the age of 15 and living a life in devotion to God.

Rev. Michael McGivney, who founded the Knights of Columbus, will also be beatified on Saturday, October 31.
