A nonpolitical Catholic prayer event, part of a nationwide movement called Unite Our Nation, is coming to Lansing on Saturday, Oct. 17.

A multi-stage procession will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Resurrection (1505 E. Michigan Ave.), continuing to the State Capitol building, and finally to St. Mary’s Cathedral. The route is approximately 1.4 miles, and parking is available at the cathedral.

The event is sponsored by Men of Christ Wisconsin, Inivictus Christus and Catholic Men United. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the event, which is part of a nationwide movement to bring prayer and peace to the people. It is a non-political event, and attendees are asked to refrain from wearing politically motivated clothing and from bringing political signs.

The procession will be led by local clergy. Everyone is invited to pray the patriotic rosary for the entire country. There will be opportunities for prayer thought the event.

“In these challenging times, we see the grave need for faithful Catholics everywhere to rally around the Eucharist and unite with Our Blessed Mother. God is calling his people. We need to storm heaven with prayer and spiritual reparation. So that we can pour out God’s mercy. Literally, we look to flood our cities with the cleansing waters of God’s love and healing grace,” said Darren O’Brien, organizer of this event, in a release.

Bussing will be provided to event from parking area. Please contact Darren O’Brien at 586-770-1081 or obrienwolfpack@yahoo.com with any questions.

This grassroots-inspired movement offers an opportunity to come together in Christian solidarity to pray, adore and for public reparation.

The organization is also working on college campuses across the country, and thousands attended a procession in Madison, after the riots there this year, according to Wisconsin Catholic Tribune.
