The University of Detroit Mercy was recently ranked in to top 20% of universities across the U.S. in the Wall Street Journal's (WSJ) 2021 Times Higher Education (THE) college rankings.
Out of nearly 1,000 schools nationwide, Detroit Mercy was ranked 180th, making it the third consecutive year the university has been ranked in the top 20%. Over the course of the three years, the university has gone from being ranked at 272 to 180.
“We are honored again to be rated among the top 20% of all universities and colleges in The Wall Street Journal/THE College rankings for 2021,” Antoine Garibaldi, president of Detroit Mercy, said in a release issued on the university's website. “This selective ranking is a well-deserved compliment for our faculty and staff who provide our students and alumni with an excellent and values-centered education."
The Wall Street Journal ranks universities based on 15 indicators that matter most to students and families, including the U.S. government’s Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA).
