A new crucifix has been gifted to St. Catherine Laboure Parish of Concord in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the church's construction.

The Rev. Timothy Krzyzaniak, the parish's pastor, and Jim Legault gifted the crucifix that was installed in the sanctuary, the parish’s Sept. 17 e-newsletter said.

“Jim donated the beautiful walnut for the cross and fashioned it as well," the e-newsletter said. "Jim painted an accent of gold in the routed-out sections of the base cross. Jim mounted the corpus and installed it."

The former crucifix will be installed in the Blessed Sacrament chapel.

A parish celebration of the 25th anniversary of the church building will be held on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, the parish website said.

“Throughout the year of 1995 our parish church and complex were being constructed," the website said. "The first Mass in the new church was celebrated on Jan. 13, 1996. The new church was consecrated by Bishop Carl F. Mengeling on Feb. 18, 1996."
