St. Agnes Church in Fowlerville shared the pastor’s take on current church events in their Aug. 30 bulletin.
The Rev. Nate Sokol drew the parishioners’ attention to the new bulletin design and explained that the church is issuing a monthly bulletin that reflects the activities that already took place at the church and encourages future activities.
While the idea is here to stay, there is not yet a name, and ideas are being welcomed at this time.
Additionally, Fr. Sokol thanked all the staff at the church who have been helping to protect one another and the parishioners from the dangers of COVID-19.
“Each of you have been absolutely amazing in helping to navigate through all the changing COVID protocols," Sokol said in the bulletin. "I also want to extend a huge thanks to all of our Assembly Coordinators; you are doing a terrific job."
The church is in need of a lector, extraordinary minister of Holy Communion and assembly coordinators. Interested individuals are requested to contact the office.
“Bill Kenny has been in formation to become a Permanent Deacon for a couple of years," Sokol said. "He still has several years of formation to go. On Saturday, Aug. 22, he was formally recognized as a candidate as he went through the Rite of Candidacy. Congratulations Bill.”
Sokol was grateful for the help with the FunFest this year. Different though it may have been from past years, the silent auction was a massive success; and it was an encouraging time to see that even with the virus present, there could still be some semblance of normalcy.
At this time, people wanting to come and speak with Fr. Sokol should make an appointment until the virus is no longer a concern.
“If you find yourself anxious or depressed, don’t forget to tap into our faith," Sokol said. "Reading scripture, listening to uplifting music, enjoying creation, counting our blessings, sitting in Eucharistic Adoration, these are all avenues that can help bring us peace, hope and comfort."
