Millions of families across the country and around the world have been impacted in some way by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Providers have lost their jobs, been put on leave or had their hours reduced. The uncertainty surrounding paychecks and financial stability can disrupt family plans.
For example, some parents are now struggling to find ways to pay tuition to keep their children in Catholic schools. The Rev. Bob McCabe at the Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, says that some of the parish's families are faced with these struggles too.

"In some cases, their youngest child will be a junior or senior this year," McCabe wrote in the July 12 parish bulletin. "I am sure this is heart-wrenching for their families."
To help these families, Divine Child has set up 2020-2021 COVID-19 Relief Fund grants. The goal is to help struggling parents pay for their child's tuition and keep them in Divine Child's schools.
"Families have reached out, explaining their current struggles and hoping for the assistance they need so they can continue their child's excellent Catholic education at Divine Child," McCabe wrote.
Donations can be sent to the rectory office at 1055 N. Silvery Lane, Dearborn, MI 48128, or dropped in the collection basket following Mass. Checks can be made out to Divine Child; and please write "COVID-19 Relief Fund" on the memo line.
Contributions can also be given online.
McCabe acknowledged that not everyone may be in a position to donate, but said that there are other ways to "make a difference." They include lifting each other up in prayer, making a phone call, sending a note or providing words of encouragement to those who may feel alone.
"Together, I am certain we can make a big difference," he wrote.
