Sports is one of the top priorities of the total school experience at the Academy of the Sacred Heart (ASH) in Bloomfield Hills.

The athletes receive strong support from parents and other members of the Academy of the ASH Booster Club. Chairman Jim Burg is also the father of Olivia and Isabelle Burg, who play many different sports at the academy. Burg says the mission of the club is to promote sportsmanship, leadership, teamwork and a strong work ethic both on the field and in the classroom among student-athletes.

“We provide financial support through monies raised by volunteers and members to ensure excellence in our athletic programs,” Burg said. “Those funds allow us to purchase supplies, equipment, and make capital improvements beyond what the school athletic budget provides.”

The ASH Booster Club believes a strong athletic program is important for school spirit and teaches valuable life lessons. The club meets five times a year to discuss the needs and long-term goals of the athletic program.
