Thanks to the generosity of parish members and a grant from the federal government, St. Regis Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills has been able to survive a 15% drop in revenues due to the COVID-19 shutdown.

The government payroll protection plan has allowed St. Regis to keep paying staff and supportive parishioners have generously stepped up to help further.

The parish is tackling a list of summer projects with the help of the funding, including the replacement of 10,000-square-foot parking lot and painting the parish offices. Other projects include finishing the Early Childhood Playscape; enhancing the front of the main school entrance; replacing the ceiling tile in the Father Shields Club Room, and installing high-efficiency lights in the gym and school office areas.

One big project is fixing the church foundation near the gathering area by the main entrance. Excavation will allow for sealing foundation cracks and preventing water from accumulating and flooding the gathering area.
