Young adults from all over Michigan are invited to attend a weekend hiking pilgrimage in late July for a weekend of camping, prayer, friendship, and a hike to the Shrine of the Cross in the Woods in Indian River.

The event, organized by the Archdiocese of Detroit is geared towards people ages 18-39 and is scheduled for the weekend of July 24-26, the archdiocese said on Unleash the Gospel. Tickets are $40 a person. It includes two nights of camping, a day of hiking, Mass, and the pilgrimage experience with an opportunity to grow closer to God. The hike will take you 10-12 miles between Lakes Burt & Mullet to the Shrine. Mass will be celebrated both days, with Bishop Raica hopefully leading one of the services.

Attendees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the campground and back home. You're also asked to bring your own tents, sleeping gear, and snacks you may want.
