Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan was recently the recipient of a Bank of America COVID-19 Community Response grant.

The grant was awarded to the ministry for its critical work addressing the coronavirus situation, according to a Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM) press release.

“This grant will allow Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan to support thousands of community members throughout the pandemic,” the press release said.

CCSEM has formed an outreach program that works with seniors who are in need of food and supplies.

“Our team has been working diligently to make sure that seniors in our community are staying safe and healthy,” the press release stated.

CCSEM had been helping more than 500 seniors over the last several weeks, and Bank of America was impressed by the impact of the group.

“Thanks to the leadership of Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan, together, we can help meet the needs of the community,” Matt Elliott, Michigan market president of Bank of America, said.
